Martin Greene, CPA/ABV, ASA has more than 30 years of experience in the accounting industry, with professional expertise in business valuation and litigation support services. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Martin is licensed in good standing by New York State, is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV, offered by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants), and is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA). The ASA offered by the American Society of Appraisers, is a multi-disciplined organization with accreditation in other appraisal areas such as real estate, machinery & equipment, and personal property. It is the oldest of the business accreditation organizations and considered the elite appraisal designation requiring extensive testing and peer review of appraisal reports.
Martin is an appointed member of the International Board of Examiners of the American Society of Appraisers where his responsibilities include the grading of prospective designees’ appraisal reports. Grading reports is an educational process that includes instructing and teaching candidates on proper valuation theory and report writing.
Prior to founding Greene Valuation, Martin served as a partner in two area CPA firms and as the director of business valuation at a large regional New York area CPA firm.
Memberships in professional organizations and appointments:
Martin Greene serves on several committees of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, including the Business Valuation and Estate Planning Committee and serves on the NYSSCPA Hotline responding to professionals’ business valuation questions.
He also is an active member of the Estate Planning Counsel in New York. He is currently the first vice president of the New York City Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers.
Martin has been qualified as a valuation expert and provides testimony in New York State Supreme Court and has served as a court-appointed and neutral appraiser. He has authored a number of articles for business valuation industry journals and speaks on valuation issues to professional associations and area bar associations.

Martin Greene is a graduate of the University at Albany in Albany, New York, with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
